I order to explain to Ngati Tama people your representatives are putting together a “please explain “ notice that sets out the reasons why NGATI TAMA WELLINGTON have another opportunity to negotiate a settlement in relation to Treaty of Waitangi breaches of Ngati Tama.

What an interesting time we have had in the past few months.
We all rallied together and found our strength in numbers to come together and vote for a mandate going forward.
Many of you all will now have a good idea of the journey we are all on in relation to the Treaty claims of Ngati Tama in Wellington. We continue to hold the standard high and work hard for you all.
After our mandating hui of the 20th April, there were submissions presented to Office of Treaty Settlements objecting to Ngati Tama Mandate Limited receiving a Crown Mandate.
As you were aware this is part of the Crown lead process and we expected that there would be dissenters amongst our whanau.
Some of those dissenters have already had their opportunity to do their own thing when they were part of the negotiations team with the Port Nicholson Block Settlement Group. It doesn’t take much to figure who they might be.
Other dissenters have been alongside of us for many years, we walked the journey together, worked hard at each other’s side all towards the same goal. To have opportunity to negotiate a settlement for Te Kaeaea’s people and other Ngati Tama peoples. Alas these ones are still our own whanau, we love them much but their journey has entered a different direction.
WE MOVE ON
Office of Treaty Settlements have given us a process going forward.
1. They will continue the submissions process from all whanau of Ngati Tama.
2. We will have opportunity to respond to any submissions of dissent.
3. We will have a decision from the Minister as to whether or not we have our Crown Mandate in the near future.
IN THE MEAN TIME
It is AGM time and we have lots of business to attend to in preparedness for our next steps.
CAN YOU FOLLOW THE VOTING ON LINE PROCESS OR POSTAL VOTING FORM IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND OUR AGM ON THE 7TH JULY.
SEE YOU THERE.
